Side-by-Side Performances
MPYO students have two opportunities to perform in a side-by-side concert with the Michigan Philharmonic: the Sinfonia in November, and the Youth Orchestra in April. This unique opportunity allows students to perform side-by-side with professional musicians in a real concert setting in front of a new audience.
Workshops
MPYO students have the opportunity to work closely with and learn from highly talented and respected guest composers and artists. Past programs have featured specialists in jazz improvisation, violin performance, piano performance, Chinese erhu, Indian sitar, and Latin percussion.
